Hi all, today I found something that I thought I´d share with you about gambling and casino affiliate programs. It could be good news for everyone.
Standard affiliate programs and partnerships all work on the principle of a website promoting a casino/gambling product and refering traffic. For every traffic referral that results in a sign up and deposit the affiliate is payed, as either a percentage of net gaming or as a fixed sign up fee. I´ve been doing some digging into the different online poker games that there are. Of course at an online casino you get the casino holdem games, pai gow and variations of these. More often than not you play against the dealer and once you have made your bet that is it. It´s not that you can raise on the turn or anything, like you can in real texas hold´em. Some casinos do have multi player versions of their casino games which is more like the real thing. But then… that´s texas holdem. Surely there´s more to poker than just texas holdem. In fact this holdem is one of the newest forms of poker. there are many others that have been around for years.
On my search I came across 2 sites that I think I have mentioned before. These are www.casino-poker.uk.com and www.nettpoker.com. Now, both of these are portals so there is no actual poker playing go on here but what both sites do is explain the different types of poker and will then recommmend specific online poker rooms for that particular game. I followed their advice and have found myself a lovely poker room that has the games that I have now found interesting.
In these poker rooms you can play for real or for fun. Playing for fun is ok, and gets you some practice but I have found that in the No Limit Holdem tables everyone just wants to bet all the time. 8 people round a $5/$10 blind table and before the flop 5 of them have gone all in and the pot is already over $1000…. BEFORE THE FLOP.. what is this?.. I have no cards to speak of so I fold. I watch the rest of the hand and find out that people are going all in with cards like 5, 7 off suit!!! Of course this is practice play so they dont worry if they lose.. if they lose they go and get more practice play chips and do it all again.
Now this is no way to learn, or to play, Holdem poker. There is no skill involved it´s just everybody in for everything and hope that the cards are kind to you. There is no guessing what others have got or trying to read the hand because everyone is all in and doesn´t matter what they have, if they are bluffing… if they have better cards than you they win and that´s all there is to it. Not like a real poker game at all.
I was a bit disillusioned until I found the “capped no limit” tables. This is exactly the same except an all in is capped to a certain amount of chips. I found the $300 capped table. This means that on a hand no player can have bet more than $300 into the pot. The players at these tables treat the game more like proper holdem, and even though it is only for play money it is more like the real thing. People will only bet if they have something (or if they want to bluff) as opposed to betting on everything and hoping for the best.
Anyway, enough for now. I´ll be back tomorrow to tell you about the variations of poker that I have fopund to be rather interesting.. there´s more than just texas Holdem. Why not try out Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, Razz, Stud or the various mixed games like HORSE nd HOSE. Interesting.

I´ve never really been that into bingo. Sure I´ve played several times but never been a great fan. I thinks it´s because it´s more of a girls game. I have mixed feelings about video poker. I think its a good game from a simplicity point of view. I mean whay could be easier. get dealt 5 cards and you have to make a poker hand of jacks or better etc. hold the cards you want to keep and draw new cards to replace the discarded ones. Easy.. however, depending what game you are playing, you do need to get at least a pair of 10´s or jacks. which isn´t that easy. I used to play video poker at land based casinos… they have them at the bars so when you are having a drink you are tempted to put a few dollars into the machine.. playing them at online casinos is the same game but not as much fun. At land based casino´s the video poker machines at the bar are very interactive and sociable from a sense of others around you. It gets you talking to others and creates an atmosphere. When you don´t win a great deal it doesn´t matter because you wre only playing it while you were socialising and drinking. the win you may have had went mostly in tips to the bartender or waitress but that didin´t matter.
Playing online video poker is not the same. Deuces Wild is a game that you can win at but you need to bet big to have any chance of getting a return. Deuces Wild is the game I play at MegaKings casino with varied success. I did ok this weekend, which is what prompted me to write this posting. There are single line and multi line varieties of this game. I usually play the 4 line version (screen shot below), at some casinos you can get 100 line versions. They all work the same.. it´s just that the cards you hold before the draw are held for all lines.
In Deuces Wild Video Poker the 2 cards are wild and can be replaced for any other card you want to make a winning hand. But in Deuces Wild you need to have at least three of a kind to get a win. When you do get a winning hand you get the chance to gamble - either “double up” or “half double up”. I always try to double up. The idea is you get dealt 5 cards 1 face up and 4 face down. you have to pick a card from the 4 face down cards that beats (is higher than) the face up card. Not that easy, if you are luck you get a 50:50 chance but more often than not only 1 of the 4 cards is the right one, and sometimes when the cards are revealed arter you have made your choice and lost you see that there is no way you could´ve won (but that is rare)… though saying that I just won $4 dollars and doubled to $8, then doubled to $16, then $32 and decided to risk no more after $64.
The easiest video poker game to win on I think has to be 10´s or better - single line. Just get anything better than a 10 and hold it for the draw. A pair only gets you your money back but playing max coins (5) and getting a full house or 4 of a kind (which does happen frequently) will get you 30 or 100 times your coin bet.

Hi guys, just thought I would let you know that I spent a few hours over the weekend playing at a casino I have never used before. The casino has been around for a long while and seems to be pretty good.
Everybody has heard of Playtech and Microgaming, these are the main players but this particular casino uses software by ”Vegas Technology”. I have never played any of their games before so I thought I would give it a try. The software isn´t as good as the market leaders. It´s a bit jumpy and froze a few times (maybe that´s my ADSL connection playing up) but all the usual games were their and looked good.
I played a few table and card games first but found nothing new that excited me or would make me change from my regular casino. I then went into the video slots area and found a 5 reel 20 line video slot call “Money Shot”. Good graphics and wild/scatter symbols to give some extras. Firstly, after about 3 spins playing 20 lines at 50 cents a line I got the scatter symbols and earnt myself some free spins. 15 of them. This was good, after 5 of the free spins my free spin win was up to $47, then I got 3 bonus symbols on my 6th free spin. This took me into the bonus round. In the bonus round you have to shoot three baskets. you choose which basket you want to aim for and then shoot and the casino determines what bonus win you get for the shot. After 3 shots your bonus round win is totalled up. My 1st basket earnt me 4.60, my second basket gave me 2.50 and my third gave me 62.30. WOW. I then went back to my free spins (I still had 9 of them left).
By the end of the free spins I had won 59.75 on the free spins and 69.40 in the bonus giving a total win on my 6th spin of 129.15….. not bad.
In the nest few spins I got to play the bonus round again and won big for a second time, then a few spins later the bonus round cam in again… not as much this time but still a good return. Whilst browsing around the lobby of my favourite online casinos I decided to try a game that I had never played before. I came across this game - Red Dog Poker - in the Card Games section of the casino and had a quick read of the rules. It seemed really simple and I thought I would have a go.
Now, normally simple games really bore me. There is very little thinking involved and I soon switch off. Red Dog was surprisingly different. Now Red Dog is a simple card game, the dealer deals 2 cards onto the table and the idea is to make a bet and gamble on whether the next card to be drawn from the pack is numbered between them.
Sounds kinda complicated but it´s not. Firstly two cards are dealt. Lets say that these 2 cards are the 8 of clubs and the 3 of hearts. This has a spread of 4… i.e. four different numbered cards can be produced from the pack that are between the numbers 3 and 8. A spread of four will pay even money. You first place an ante to get the 2 cards dealt. Then you decide whether you want to bet (double your stake) or just call. Either way the next card is dealt and you either win or lose. The close the gap between the first 2 cards the higher the odds. for example, if a 6 and 8 is dealt the only card that can make you a winner is a 7 (i.e. a spread of 1) - a spread of 1 pays out 5 to 1.
If the first 2 cards are the same and the 3rd is different then a push occurs and you get to bet again on another 2 cards. If the first 2 cards are the same and the 3rd is the same then this is three of a kind and you win… a staggering 11 to 1.
All in all it´s a pretty good game, and you have an excellent chance of winning some money.. Just make a gamble on the even bets and you generally win, on the long shots you only gamble your ante, but if a 5 to 1 shot comes in you are up on your money.

When I was in my younger days I lived in the UK and spent my late teens and early twenties frequenting the wonderful british pubs. One of the main ingredients of a british pub is the fruit machine, or fruity as it is often called.
The fruit machines were brightly lit, very loud and had load of flashing lights. I used to love them. The first thing I looked for when I went online to the best and biggest casinos was the fruit machines. At first glance I couldn´t find them, then I remembered that most online casinos had massive american influence, and were known as Slot Machines. Well that is what I assumed anyway.
I soon found out that Slot Machines were very different from Fruit Machines. OK, they followed the same ideas in that you put in your money and spin the reels and you win according to what ends up on the payline, but with the british pub fruit machines there was a lot more to it. You had features wre you had to count numbers that were on the reels and when they added up to a certain number you entered a gambling zone, choose your bonus feature, get nudges, spin for higher or lower etc. etc. This made the british fruit machine quite a skilled game. you had to know where things were on the reels, how the bonus features worked, what the nudges were worth and when to gamble and when to quit while you were ahead.
Online slots are very different, many have no bonus games and do not invoolve a gamble of any sort (apart from gambling your initial stake on a spin of the reels). With the birth of online video slots more similarities came into play and you now get excellent video slot games with scatter symbols, wild cards and some excellent bonus rounds which bring a bit more gambling into play. I played a game last night where the bonus was to help the pirate find his treasure, you picked 3 spots for the pitate to dig at and won what was unearthed. In my case that was €17.50. That was the end of the bonus round I thought (this is normally the case) but in this instance I was offered a gamble.. did I want to gamble my €17.50 bonus win for a key to the treasure chest… Now this is what makes slots interesting.. What was in the treasure chest? This is real gambling slots. Me, being a gambler, thought what the heck, lets go for it. I got the key and the treasure chest slowly opened.. Inside was €42.50. I was a winner all round.
